Did you know that high-quality backlinks and content are the two most important things Google uses for ranking?

But let me be honest. Building quality backlinks is not that easy.

And it’s getting tougher each year.

However, here’s a fact – building quality backlinks can help get a higher rank, boost credibility, and referral traffic.

So, we cannot neglect it.

Back in the days, you could get away with buying links but now that’s not wise. These transactions mostly involve low-quality backlinks that negatively impact your website’s SEO. So, you need to put in the effort to get high-quality backlinks for your website.

And for this, it’s useful to create a powerful content strategy.

Creating great content for your website can help you get valuable links from high-authority domains.

But before we get into the various link building strategies, let’s take a look at how you can come up with good content.

Basic Content Creation Tips

Do Some Research

You need to stock up on content ideas before you start creating content. And for that, you need to know what’s happening out there. If you can give something that your audience is looking for, then your content will easily get backlinks and that’s where research helps.

Understand Your Audience

If you don’t know who your audience is, you’ll end up creating content for no one. You have to be very specific when you are targeting. For example, a tech blog has to create content specifically for the younger generation who are into technology.

Add Stats and Case Studies

Having a few stats and case studies here and there in your content can make it more credible. People love seeing numbers and external researched data. So, don’t forget to add them.

Give Real-Life Examples

You tried a few link building hacks and found them to be not working, share them with your audience. The idea is to talk about your personal experience through blog posts.

Give them a real-life example and take them through your experience with your words. Similarly, you can contradict a few popular techniques in your industry and talk about how you would go about it.

Include New Content in Your Topic

Suppose you are talking about building quality backlinks on your website. People will find thousands of similar backlinking techniques on the web. So, you must try to add a few new link building hacks.

This can set you apart from the rest and give more value to the readers.

Remember when Backlinko arrived with the famous “Skyscraper” technique? That’s exactly what I mean.

Do Content Optimization

Follow all the content optimization techniques for your content to improve its SEO. Here are a few things you must do.

● Find the best SEO keywords.

● Focus on the keyword but don’t overdo it.

● Use headings properly.

● Make sure you are adhering to the average word count that Google prefers.

● Use location-specific words and phrases.

● Use relevant links throughout your content.

Maintain Good Readability

Use tools such as Grammarly or Hemingway Editor to find out your readability score. Try to achieve Grade 6 or score 60 and above. Don’t include very long sentences.

When you get the content right, you won’t need any other ways to build quality backlinks. People will link to your content automatically. So, you’ll be able to create backlinks for free.

So, here are my tried and tested methods for building quality backlinks.

There are various content types on the web. When your goal is to get high-quality backlinks for your website, you should create valuable content that people would want to link to.

What I mean by valuable is that people should find it useful for their website or sharing. Shareable contents are the best if you want to bring huge traffic overnight.

Check this case.

HubSpot got a lot of traffic with the How to Create Detailed Buyer Personas for Your Business [Free Persona Template] blog.

It’s your classic “How-to” post.

Source: HubSpot

Overall, this article earned more than 6512 backlinks from high-authority domains.

So, “How-to” blogs are one content type you might want to work on if you want to build quality backlinks. However, there are a few more content types that can help build quality backlinks, such as:

  • Guides and Ebooks
  • Interviews
  • Opinions
  • Infographics

2. Start Guest Posting

There are thousands of websites that allow guest posting. When you are writing a guest blog for a particular website, you are contributing to their content.

But here is the catch.

You can promote your website by adding relevant links throughout the content. But you shouldn’t overdo this, else the editor will reject your blog post. So, try to insert 2-3 links in your guest blog depending on what the editor says is suitable.

But you’ll have to add links that are relevant to the website. For instance, you cannot write a blog post on beauty and add tech backlinks to it.

It’ll deteriorate the quality of the blog post.

Guest posting is the most common method people use to build quality backlinks. But remember to pitch to websites with higher domain scores. The higher the domain score, the better is the quality of the backlink and this can improve your SEO further.

You can find the websites for guest posting by searching “Write for us + “your niche”.

Source:Google

Helping fix broken links is a popular method people use to build quality backlinks from authority websites.

But you’ll have to work a bit for it.

Now, what are broken links?

These are links that are not functional anymore. But webmasters don’t have enough time to check every broken link on their website.

It takes a lot of time.

But if you can spare some time from your busy schedule and find those broken links, it’ll be helpful for them, and for you.

After you make a list of all the broken links on a website, you just have to email them to the website owner. And in return, you can ask them to add your links as replacements.

You don’t have to individually check each link on every post. You can use a chrome extension called Check My Links”. It shows all the broken links on a page.

4. Participate in Roundup Posts

Expert roundup posts are becoming popular these days. These are a great way to get quality backlinks and even build your brand. Having expert roundup posts helps in making the website look credible.

Moreover, whenever a website publishes a roundup post it gets shared by the experts who participate in it. But here is the thing, if you participate in the roundup post you’ll also get quality backlinks for your website.

Since these are expert posts, they get high traffic. So, a good amount of referral traffic is assured when you are participating in these roundup posts. But for that, you need to build your network. It will help you remain updated with all the roundup posts.

5. Align Social Media Signals

Google also considers social signals as an important ranking factor. This means that your brand’s presence and performance on social media might have some impact on your search engine rankings.

When you get numerous shares on different social media channels, it will help you build quality backlinks. However, these don’t count towards your SEO. Instead, they help drive traffic to your website and this, in turn, will help in improving your SEO and may also get you some natural backlinks from other sites.

It’s also a great practice to put social media buttons on your posts so that people can share them more on their social media accounts.

Moz, for example, has such social sharing buttons on the website.

Source:Moz

When you are a well-known brand, people will mention you in their blog posts. However, many times, they might not link those mentions to your website.

Even if they are mentioning your brand’s products, there is a scope for building quality backlinks.

What you need to do is find out these unlinked brand mentions and pitch them for a backlink. They are already interested in your brand, so the slight nudge might help in pushing them over the edge and it might get you a backlink.

7. Syndicate Content

There are several content syndication websites you can choose from. My personal favorites are Medium and LinkedIn. The best part about content syndication is that it can get you a backlink and traffic without having to create new content.

You can post your blog on the content syndication website as it is. Google won’t penalize these articles even though they are duplicates as it spares content syndication.

These content syndication websites have better domain scores and high traffic. So, when you are linking your website, you’ll get lots of referral traffic. At the same time, you’ll be able to build quality backlinks for your website.

8. Give Testimonials

Writing testimonials is a link building hack many webmasters follow. It helps in scoring links from high-quality domains.

What you do here is find your favorite product or service and then write positive comments about it. You can approach the webmaster and ask them to feature it as a testimonial.

It’ll help you get featured on the provider’s website. When they’ll feature your testimonial, you can ask them to add your website’s link to it.

You may have to pitch your testimonial to many such companies. Some of them might be happy with free promotions and reviews. So, you’ll easily get a backlink.

Matthew Woodward has written numerous such testimonials and earned backlinks.

9. Comment On Other Relevant Posts

For building quality backlinks for your website, you can also comment on other’s posts. However, you must try to stick to posts from your niche. Read the blog posts carefully and then add your comment with your link. However, these comments will be nofollow links and may not help your SEO much.

However, if the comments are decent, it can help you to some extent. So don’t give flat comments like “It’s helpful”. You have to elaborate and share your expertise. It will help you build quality backlinks on authoritative websites and also build your brand.

For instance, see the below comment. It’s got all the right things in place.

Source:SEO Optimizers

10. Get Interviewed

Many websites conduct interviews and when the interview goes live on the blog, they include the name and website of the interviewee.

So, if you have created a brand and have expertise in your field, it’s time to get started with interviews. However, to get interviews you need to have a good fan following and network.

It’ll help you connect with fellow bloggers and business owners who might want to take your interview. And when they’ll be done with the interview, you may ask for a backlink to your website.

For example, note how this website has taken an interview of Neil Patel.

11. Leverage Influencer Marketing

You can also build quality backlinks with influencer marketing. If you are selling a product or a service, find an influencer who would want to try it and share a review with their audience. However, you must make sure that the influencer is from your niche.

Once you make a collaboration deal with the influencer, ask them to write or make a video about your product or service. You can pay them for the same or give them a shoutout. In the process, you’ll get a backlink for your website and they’ll either get their payment or some traffic too.

Using easy embed codes and creating tweetable content you can make it easier for people to share things from your content. When they share using their accounts, it will also help in driving traffic to your website and get you backlinks in some cases.

In this way, your content will be shared across different social channels and embedded on other websites.

For example, see how the website below has no follower added a tweet button.

Source:Help Scout

There are several ways to build quality backlinks for your website. Having high-quality content is the first step. So, ensure you are following all the best practices for content writing to get more backlinks. Try to have content that people will love to share.

Incorporate new information in your content that is not available on the web. You may share a new technique that people can benefit from as well.

To get a few backlinks from high domain authority websites, you can write guest posts on them. So, start working and let me know whether these tricks worked for you.

Writing a guest post for your target audience can be a smart marketing move. When done right, it can help you increase your brand awareness, gain top search engine rankings, and drive extra traffic to your site.

According to Social Marketing Writing, 62.96 percent of people regard blogs with multiple authors to be more credible.

Each email must convince the website owner to read it and connect with you further to establish a mutually beneficial guest blogging relationship.

So, yes! Email outreach can be an art. Striking the right tone, crafting a compelling subject line, finding the right group of people to talk to — all of these elements can be daunting.

Or, you may not have the time to design a professional email template for dozens of different circumstances in your guest post outreach work. These proven and tested emails are going to make it easy for you.

What is Guest Blogging?

Guest posting, often known as guest blogging, is an off-page SEO approach for acquiring backlinks. Here’s how the system works.

A blogger offers articles to another blog in exchange for a link to his own blog, website, or social media.

Typically, guest bloggers approach websites that’s similar to their niche and write for them to:

  • Boost brand awareness, and credibility.
  • Generate quality leads by attracting more traffic to their website.
  • Improve search engine authority with relevant backlinks.

Boost brand awareness, and credibility

Content marketing has largely replaced television advertising in recent years. As a result, the value of high-quality content will only rise with time.

So, as long as Content Marketing keeps entertaining people – Guest Posting isn’t going to be dead (or at least not in the near future).

How to Find an Ideal Guest Post Opportunity?

If sales automation is the holy grail for sales teams, guest posts can boost the marketing teams’ efficiency in delivering results.

When it comes to guest blogging, your biggest challenge is the unavailability of opportunities. Therefore, networking is super important.

How do you do it?

It’s easy. Regardless of what niche you are, search by using modifiers. We have listed down some of the most common ones below:

  • keyword + guest blog/guest post
  • keyword + write for us
  • keyword + submit an article/submit a guest post
  • keyword + contribute guest post
  • keyword + contribute to our blog
  • keyword + accepting guest posts
  • keyword + become a guest blogger
  • keyword + guest blogging guidelines
  • keyword + contributor guidelines
  • keyword + guest post guidelines
  • keyword + send a tip
  • Keyword + contributor
  • keyword + guest post by
  • keyword + guest author

Alternatively, you may use the following search queries:

  • Site:domain.com “a guest contribution by”
  • Site:domain.com “guest post by”

You can also use various tools to find blogs in your niche and grow your email list, for example:

  • Content research tools: You may find guest blogs using sites like Buzzsumo; simply search for your topic keywords + “guest post” or “guest post by.” This will help you in identifying related blogs that accept guest contributions.
  • Social listening tools: While some of these tools let you search the entire web (blogs, social media, forums, and other content sources), others are simply focused on social media monitoring. Both strategies have the potential to produce excellent results.

So, What’s the Biggest Takeaway?

Email outreach is one of the most rewarding outreach tactics (and free if you’re starting out!). Guest post templates like these can save you a lot of time. But you cannot send out just one template to a few thousand websites and expect miraculous responses.

That’s where the need for customization chimes in. You need to send out personalized emails, or choose templates based on your end goals. Also, never come off desperate, or robotic. Keep in mind that whoever’s on the other end of the email is a real person!

Thank you for reading. If you think we have missed something, let us know in the comments.

Nowadays, the first thing people do to search for their hotel is going online. They put a few keywords and start searching on Google.

So, if you own a hotel, you would want to appear on the Google search page.

And for that, you need to fine-tune your SEO game.

Just showing up on the search engine page is not enough. Your website should appear for the right keywords and rank as number one.

Do you know the average CTR on the first ranking website on Google is 31.7%?

So, it would be profitable to rank on the top of the Google search engine for every relevant search.

Therefore, you have to understand the basics of SEO and utilize it correctly.

Hotel SEO is not that difficult if you know how to do it right. However, if you are not that confident, you can always go for a digital marketing agency.

In this article, I will tell you all the things you should know about hotel SEO. If you follow the tricks step-by-step, you’ll start seeing impressive results within a short time.

But before we get into the SEO tactics, let’s understand SEO and its importance.

What is SEO for Hotels?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of optimizing a hotel website so that it ranks on the search engine pages.

When you use hotel SEO, you can establish a good online presence and drive traffic to your website. When you get good traffic, you will get a high number of bookings.

So, you should consider SEO as a part of your digital marketing strategy.

If you can get that right, you can easily win over all your competitors.

Why is Hotel SEO Important?

Whenever your potential customers search on Google, they get a long list of options. With SEO tricks, you can make your website appear in those lists.

But here is the thing. People prefer clicking on a webpage that ranks first. So, it’s important that you get your website on top.

Hotel SEO tactics will help you get that position.

If your website doesn’t appear on the first page of Google, it will not get the required exposure and it will impact your business.

In simple words, no SEO, no website traffic, and no bookings!

That’s the reason, you have to do optimization to stay in business.

How to Perform Hotel SEO?

I have been working on hotel SEO for years now. I have found that only a few hotel SEO tricks work. So, I am mentioning them below.

Try to incorporate these into your SEO strategy to get the best results.

1. Understand Your Target Audience

Defining your target audience is the first step of hotel SEO. If you are in business for years now, you will have a good idea of the audience. But if you are starting new, you need to do a little research.

Through the audience research, you’ll understand the characteristics of people who are most likely to book a room at your place. While online, you should target using these characteristics.

These characteristics will be the backbone of your whole SEO strategy. You have to mold your content and targeting based on these.

For example, if you own a budget hotel, your audience will comprise solo travelers, backpackers, and more. So, when you do SEO for these people, you must use keywords that would attract them.

2. Do Proper Keyword Research

Your whole hotel SEO strategy works on keyword research. So, you need to use the audience information to determine the keywords for your website.

Now there are mainly two types of keywords – short tail keywords and long-tail keywords.

You need to focus on both these types.

Let’s say your hotel is in Cairo. So, here are a few possible keywords you can go for.

Ubersuggest Keyword Research Result

Source: Ubersuggest

When you start working on your website content, you should try to incorporate these keywords into it.

It will help your website to show up when people search for these keywords. However, you also need to use some keywords which are specific to your hotel.

For example, if your hotel is located near the Nile river (which is a tourist spot), you might want to add “Nile” in your keyword. So, your keyword will be “budget hotel in Cairo near the Nile.”

3. Work on the Page Title, Meta Description, and URL

When you are working on your hotel SEO, you should try to make things easier for the Google crawler.

You can do that by optimizing your website. Your website should give clear signals to the crawler about what it is about.

So, you need to tweak your webpage titles, meta description, and URL.

When Google shows up the results on the search engine page, it comes with the web title, meta description, and URL.

So, if all these things align with your keywords, it’ll help Google and your audience understand your website better.

Here is how a result is shown on the Google search engine page.

Google search engine result page

The webpage URL is mainly for the Google crawler. While your webpage title and meta description are for your audience.

Web Page URL

The URL is the address of your website’s page. You can use it to move to a specific page of your website.

Here are some of the ways you can optimize URLs for SEO.

  • Separate the words in your URL using hyphens (dashes).
  • Avoid using any stop or connecting words (like is, with..)

Page Title

Page titles are the first thing your audience will see about your website. So you need to make them perfect.

Here are a few tips to write an SEO-friendly page title:

  • Try to include the primary keyword and make it short and easy.
  • The page title length should be within 60 characters.

Meta Description

As it is the summarization of your article, people generally read this. To make it SEO-friendly, you should try to tell exactly what is in the article and use the primary keyword.

4. Optimize Your Web Content

Content plays a major role in SEO. So, you need to include content optimization in your hotel SEO strategy.

The content helps in two things – building authority and getting ranked.

Therefore, even if you have website content for your primary pages, you should try to upload blogs and articles as well.

These contents help in driving more traffic to your website.

For example, you can publish blogs on “10 things to do in Dubai” and add your hotel’s name and link to it. So, when the blog shows up for a search about Dubai, your brand will also get some exposure.

Blog Article

However, I understand it is not easy to publish blogs and articles daily when running a business. So, what you can do is hire content writers for your website. They will help you deliver SEO content daily.

5. Add Alt Text to All Your Images on Your Website

When you have a hotel website, you will want to add more and more images of your hotel.

So, what if you can use these images to show up in Google searches?

Yes, you can also do SEO with your website images.

Since Google doesn’t understand images, you should add alt text to let Google know what’s in the picture.

When you add alt text to your website’s images, they will appear in the Google images. So, when one clicks on the image, they will open your website.

Therefore, SEO experts generally recommend optimizing all the images on the website. You never know for which photo you can get website traffic.

6. Arrange the Headings and Subheadings

Structured content is easier to read for Google and users. It helps to identify which parts are important and how the whole content is interconnected.

So, instead of writing flat texts, try to emphasize the headings by using the H1 or H2 tags.

There are different headings such as H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, and H6. You have to use these to show Google the hierarchy of importance of the headings in your content.

Overall, using this will help you with your hotel SEO.

7. Use Google Hotel Search

Adding Google Hotel Search to your hotel SEO strategy is a must. Google Hotel Search is specifically for hotels around the world. If you can get your hotel to rank on top here, you are bound to get a lot of traffic to your website.

As mentioned earlier, people generally use one way to search hotels online.

“Hotels in (name of the city, town, or vicinity).”

So, you need to ensure that you use these words. However, at the same time, Google Hotel Search emphasizes other characteristics like images, name of the hotel, price, and description.

So, when you use your Google My Business account, ensure that you have these details perfectly.

Getting on top of the hotel listings is not that easy, but if you follow the optimization tactics and get good ratings and reviews, you’ll surely get on top.

Once you are at position one, your hotel will get more visibility. Even if you cannot rank on the first page, ranking on the listing will help you get traffic.

The real estate business has changed over the years. Now more and more people are using the internet for their new house hunt.

Gone are the days of several face-to-face meetings with agents.

With more online hunts, things have become difficult for real estate business owners. They are not able to get the local high-quality leads that they got before.

They are also missing the chances of using their communication strategies for converting the leads.

When a person searches online for real estate they have a wider selection. They can look at the images of plots, houses and get the essential details.

Sometimes they only look for reviews.

BrightLocal says 87% of consumers read online reviews for local businesses.

Therefore, as a real estate owner, you must have a website having all the accurate details and reviews. At the same time, to attract the right leads, you must use SEO strategies.

You may have a great website but only SEO will help you get quality leads. However, for real estate, the SEO strategies are a bit different.

So, let me explain to you in detail.

What is Real Estate SEO and Why is it Important?

You can find several definitions for real estate SEO online but the gist is:

The SEO tactics one uses show up when a user searches about buying and selling a property on search engines.

Imagine yourself as the customer who wants to buy a new home. You’ve decided on the location and the kind of house you want.

What’s the next thing you would do?

That’s right, go to Google to look at all the real estate available in that location.

Now, when you are searching on Google, you’ll find two sets of links – Google ads and organic links.

Google ads will show up on the top with a symbol of “Ad” along with it. In case, you have a budget to invest or you want leads quickly, then you may go for this.

However, if you want to spend the least and want your website to rank on the first page, you should go for real estate SEO.

Using real estate SEO strategies, your website will be showing at the top. It’s all about keywords and different optimization about which I will discuss ahead.

And here is the best part, the first result in Google’s organic search gets a 28.5% click-through rate.

So, if you can get your website to rank numero uno on the Google search engine page, you’ll get huge traffic. However, it’s not only about ranking number one. You also need to show up on the right searches.

It’ll help you in the overall brand awareness.

Your ranked website will receive more clicks when someone searches for certain keywords. If the website is designed accurately, you’ll get more calls and emails from potential leads.

Now that you know about real estate SEO and its importance, let’s find out the strategies you can apply.

The Real Estate SEO Strategies in 2021

You don’t have to be an expert to implement SEO strategies on your website. However, if you are not confident and all new to this online world, you may take the help of a digital marketing agency.

They’ll help you make the right on-page and local SEO setups that are vital for ranking.

However, if you think you can take on real estate SEO all by yourself, here are the strategies.

1. Optimize your Google My Business page.

When someone searches “real estate” in a location, the Google listings also show up. The Google listing consists of all the real estate companies that are available in that location.

You can get potential prospects using the Google listing as well. Many people go for this listing instead of clicking on the organic links.

The listing consists of the name, contact details, and reviews. So, anyone researching real estate can take a look at the reviews and decide whether to visit the website or not.

For example, when I search the keyword “real estate company in Boston” this Google listing shows up.

Statewise Real Estate Companies on Google

Source: Google

As you can see that there are two types of listing. One is a Google ad and the other one is an organic listing. You can always invest in ads, but we would recommend going for organic listing.

It’s free and you’ll get more customers from here.

When someone clicks on the name, Google will show the ratings, reviews, pictures, website, and more.

So, if you haven’t set up your Google My Business page, you should do it immediately. Just visit google.com/business and fill in all the details.

Make sure your profile has all the necessary details. Don’t forget to include:

  • Website
  • Location
  • Telephone number
  • Description
  • Opening hours
  • Photos
  • Primary and secondary categories

When someone will search for “real estate near me” Google will show only the top 3. So, you need to optimize to get in the top 3 places.

For that, you need to add all the information correctly.

2. Focus on reviews on Google listings

When 90% of consumers read online reviews before visiting any website, you must pay attention to your reviews.

Online reviews help in building trust. People believe in recommendations from others who have used a business.

Google listings are one of the top places, people read the reviews.

Even if your company is not in the first place on the list, if you have a good number of reviews and ratings, it will help. When there is a sea of real estate companies online, having positive reviews can make you stand out.

It’ll also help in improving your local SEO.

Company reviews on Google

Source: Google

Here you can see that even though the marked real estate company is in number two. However, it’ll receive more clicks because of the high number of reviews.

At the same time, always try to get reviews on other platforms such as Yelp, Facebook, and more. Most people visit websites only after going through a few positive reviews on the web.

3. Do your keyword research

Keyword research is one of the most important aspects of on-site SEO. It is only with the help of the right keyword, you can target your customers.

To find the keyword you need to understand your consumer’s intent. If you can get yourself in the shoes of your customers, you can easily find the keywords that they might search. However, if you are unable to do so, you may run a survey to find out.

On the web, with the help of keyword research tools, you can easily figure out the keywords.

What most real estate marketers do is spend the most time on social media marketing and content marketing. However, if your keyword game is supercharged, you’ll be able to rank high on Google.

If you do your keyword research correctly, you’ll get free traffic. But it will take some time.

Here are a few tips you may use for your keywords:

  • Try to use more long-tail keywords.
  • Use the Google search bar to find these long-tail keywords.
  • Check the search queries in Google Ads.
  • Check for organic terms you rank for in Google Analytics.
  • Give a go at Ahrefs’ keyword explorer

4. Optimize on-page components

The optimization for on-page elements for local and national real estate companies is a bit different. However, both require to include the name, address, and phone number (NAP) clearly on the website.

It will not only help the people to contact you but even the search engines to index properly.

Along with that you also need to get the title tags, meta description, and body copy right.

Make the meta description engaging so people will quickly click on your link. Most people read the meta description to judge whether to click on the link.

So, try to add CTA in the meta description along with the keyword.

Always select a website platform that uses Schema local markup. It helps the indexing bots know what to look for.

You want to have your all listings indexable and also have an XML sitemap. These are the essentials if you are planning to optimize the website.

Here are some additional things you should do for on-page SEO:

  • Try to add the focus keyword at the beginning of the title.
  • Keep the title engaging and short.
  • Use the keyword in the permalink.
  • Add the keyword in the meta description.
  • Try to keep the keyword density at 1-1.5%

5. Produce engaging content

Most real estate companies do not focus on the content. They have the pictures and the pricing but people always want more detail.

If they get all the details they need right on a single page, they will be more interested in buying.

So, if you feel that your website is lacking good content, you should invest in engaging content as soon as possible.

You can take the help of a content writing service or hire a content writer.

Other than having the main content on the website, you should also try to write blogs every week. Having enough content on your website will educate people about your business.

But I understand finding good content ideas for real estate can be difficult. So, you can always check what your competitor’s blogs are about. You can steal some ideas and give them a unique twist.

You can also check out BuzzSumo and Google Trends to narrow down the contents which will help you get more shares. These free tools will tell you about what people are interested in from the real estate sector.

You may focus on those topics and create engaging content that your customers will love.

Are you a new blogger working on your link-building skill? Do you want to get high-quality backlinks? Are you in search of backlink generators?

Then you are at the right place!

If you know about SEO, then you must know the importance of getting high-quality backlinks. It is necessary for higher rankings on search engine result pages (SERPs).

According to Aira, 53% of participants believe backlinks’ impact will remain the same in the future, while 5% believe its impact will increase. So, it’s evident, we can’t run away from backlinks.

Backlink building is a popular White-hat SEO tactic. Google prefers websites that have high-quality backlinks. So, it’s obvious, Google will provide them a better rank.

Not only that, but high-quality backlinks also show that your content has some authority in the niche. For example, currently, the Backlinko website has 317,043 backlinks according to Ubersuggest. So, Google thinks that it is an expert in the digital marketing sector.

Whenever you search any SEO-related keyword, you will find one blog of Backlinko ranking on the SERP.

Why High-quality Backlinks are Important for Google Rankings?

Backlinks create a way to another website. They are often called “inbound links” and play a major role in SEO.

When a website adds a backlink, Google analyzes it. According to Moz, it’s a “vote of confidence” from another website.

So, if several websites are linking to a particular web page (backlinking), the search engine will feel that it has authority. Therefore, it will surface on top of the search engine results page.

In the past, having more backlinks could have got your website on the first page. But things changed after the Google Penguin update. Now Google looks for relevant, high-quality, and natural inbound links.

For example, if you have a blog on health and makeup, then the backlinks you are getting must be from the same niche. If you are getting backlinks from irrelevant websites such as coupon websites, then Google will ignore it.

So, high-quality backlinks are essential from a ranking perspective.

Here are a few reasons why you must get backlinks for your website:

  • Builds website authority.
  • Higher ranks.
  • Faster Indexing.
  • Generates more referral traffic.
  • Helps in building relationships with fellow bloggers, influencers, and website owners.

However, getting high-quality backlinks is not as simple as it seems. And using shortcuts like paid backlinks is a complete no-no. You should rely on natural backlink building tactics and forget about links from low-quality websites.

So, let’s find out which are the best ways to get high-quality backlinks.

1. Guest Posting

Most of the bloggers rely on guest posting or guest blogging strategies to get high-quality backlinks. Although it’s a bit of work, the traffic you will receive will compensate.

In guest blogging, you write for another website. Go for the ones which have a better domain score and higher ranks on the search engine results pages. Most websites allow you to promote your links including social media handles, blogs, products, and more.

Here are some websites with high domain score allowing guest blogging:

So, when you write a piece on another website, don’t forget to insert your blog’s link. This will help in generating traffic.

Moreover, while you send pitches to bloggers for guest-blogging, you are also building a relationship with them. So, the blogger might be interested in using external links to your website.

2. Create Great Content

You should invest 90% of your energy into creating great content and 10% in getting high-quality backlinks. Most people reverse this rule. They spend more time building relationships to get backlinks.

Many even start working on backlinks for new content. But it is not right! If you are getting a backlink on a new content, Google might think it’s manipulative. So, allow natural indexing after you have created your content.

Try to produce high-quality content which promises a higher rank. This is the only way to draw scalable backlinks to your website. Informative content along with white-hat SEO strategies will help in getting higher rank on the search engine page. To give it a last push, you will have to spend some time on getting backlinks.

How to know if your content is of high quality?

When you plan your content, ensure that it is valuable to your audience. Try to solve a major problem or talk about things that people are interested in. Check out Google Trends, to find out what people are talking about.

If your content has all the material people need, it will receive more clicks and a better rank on Google. Other bloggers will try to link to your blog as they know the information will help their audience.

Similarly, don’t be afraid of using other’s links in your blog. The point is to give exactly what the audience wants. If any blog is helping you prove a point, use the link to it.

And don’t forget to send an e-mail to the blogger that you have used their blog’s link. They will appreciate it and will collaborate with you in the future.

In this way, you can create great content to attract the audience, bloggers, and Google.

3. Find Broken Links

If you have been blogging for a while, then you must know how broken links (404 errors) can hamper page quality. Almost every blogger has to deal with it now or then. But not everyone has the time to find these links.

So, if you have time, try to find such links on websites in your niche. You may use a chrome extension called Check My Links. This will find all the broken links on the web page you are searching for.

Once you have collected all the data, contact the website owner and let them know about it. They will appreciate your effort. As gratitude, they may link relevant blogs from your website on their website.

So, don’t forget to pitch your links after you receive a response.

4. Create Ultimate Guides

The term ‘Ultimate Guide’ works like a magnet for the audience. People believe they can find all the answers to their questions in guides.

Guides are generally quite long. They range from 5k to 10k words. According to Backlinko, long contents are better from an SEO perspective.

long contents are better from an SEO perspective

Image via Backlinko

Evergreen contents like guides are lucrative. You will receive an audience for a longer time and also get more backlinks in the long run.

Ultimate guides contain a lot of information on a single page. People don’t have to look for information on different websites. They can get everything they need in the same place.

The same goes for bloggers and website owners, who are searching for links to help their audience. They prefer linking to such valuable content. And thus, ultimate guides receive a lot of high-quality backlinks.

These guides become the go-to page for every information in the niche. So, people like to link to it.

5. Create Stunning Infographics

Now here is the thing, bloggers and website owners don’t get enough time to create infographics. But people love infographics. They convey any information quickly.

So, most website owners share other’s infographics on their website. Having quality infographics on your website will bring a lot of backlinks.

When you create an infographic, you use your website’s logo or name, right? So, when someone uses this picture, they have to use a backlink to your website as well. In this way, you will receive a lot of high-quality backlinks from your niche.

Here are a few tools you may use to create infographics:

6. Focus on Content Types that Generate Backlinks

According to Backlinko, 95% of web pages do not have any backlinks. During the analysis, the team discovered that the pages with backlinks were the ones with higher ranks.

Unique names for strategies build more fame over time. For example, Brian Dean from Backlinko came up with the Skyscraper Technique which is a link-building strategy.

He used the word ‘Skyscraper’ for this even though it is describable in 3 steps. But using a branded term creates curiosity among people and slowly it becomes popular.

This later helps in getting backlinks because other people (bloggers) start talking about it in their blogs. When they are talking about it they have to backlink to the original content.

In this way, one can get high-quality backlinks within a short time. But you may have to work a bit on making the term a bit famous. Using social media platforms is a simple way to do so.

So, try to come up with strategies and name them.

Google Reverse Image Search on Phone

When you need to lookup pictures on your phone, it has some additional steps. Follow the steps below to learn:

Step 1: I understand that you may be used to using the Google Search Engine app. However, here you need to use google chrome instead. If you do not have the Chrome app, you may download it for Android or iOS from the play store.

Don’t wish to download the chrome app? No problem, you may use any browser you want. Add images.google.com in the URL bar and search.

Step 2: The Google images screen will show up. But in the phone version, you may not find the camera symbol. So, you need to go to the settings and activate the desktop version.

Step 3: Once you get the desktop version, you will find the camera symbol. It will be in the search bar. Click on it, and you can follow the same steps mentioned in the desktop version.

Google Search Engine app

If you use the Google Search Engine app often, you must have come across the Google Lens. You can do google reverse image search in Google Lens as well.

Microsoft Bing Visual Search

Bing may not be as popular as its competitor Google, but people still use it. According to a study on Statista, in February 2021, Bing captured 6.7 percent of the global search market. Although, yes, Google was leading with 86.6 percent.

So, yes, a good number of people use the Microsoft Bing app and the search engine.

The reverse image search in Bing is as easy as Google. The plus point with this is you can directly click a picture and search it on Bing.

For example, you are stuck on a maths problem and need some hint on solving it. Just click a picture of the sum and search it. I am sure you will get some information! Just ensure no one else knows about it 😉

Microsoft Bing Reverse Image Search

Now when you are using Microsoft Bing, you can do a reverse image search in two ways. You may use the search engine directly from the browser. Or you may download the Microsoft Bing app.

I would suggest you go for the app.

Let me start with the search engine on a browser. You may use Chrome, which I know you use a lot. So, follow the steps below.

Bing Search Engine Through Chrome

Step 1:  Click here, and the Bing Visual search window will open. Alternatively, you can search Bing Visual Search in Google. You will end up with this screen below.

Click on the Take photo

If you are using a smartphone, you will see this screen. But if you are on a desktop, you will get additional options to drag the image, search by image URL, and more.

Click on the ‘Take Photo’ tab on the screen.

Step 2: Once you click on it, your phone may ask for permission.

allow bing to use your camera

You will have to allow bing to use your camera, or else it would not allow using the other options. After allowing the app, you are free to take a photo and search for similar images online.

Step 3: If you look below, you will find the gallery symbol. You need to click on it.

gallery will show

Step 4: Your phone’s gallery will show up with all the pictures. You need to click on the image you wish to search. On the upper corner, you will get two options – Camera and Browse.

With the camera option, you may click images, and the browse button will open your Google drive. So, if you have a picture there, you can use it from Google drive.

After you select the image, you can do the reverse image search using the Bing search engine.

Microsoft Bing App Visual Search

For this, you will require the Microsoft Bing App (Obviously!). So, download accordingly for your Android or iOS phone. Next, follow the steps below for the reverse image search on the Bing app.

Reverse Image Search Engines

When you are in a hurry and need to do reverse image search quickly, you may rely on Image search engines. These are search engines to look up images. However, not all of them are accessible through a browser or smartphone.

Here are some of them:

  • TinEye is one of the notable image search engines. To date, TinEye has crawled over 46 billion pictures on the world wide web. You may upload, paste or enter the image URL for the image search.
  • Duplichecker.com’s similar image finder is great for looking up images if you are on the go. Not only it presents the images, but it also provides additional details about them.
  • Yandex.com’s images section has the search by image option. After opening it, click on the camera button on the search bar. You may select a file or use an image URL for the reverse image search.

There are several apps for looking up pictures as well. If you are an investigative journalist dealing with cybercrimes, then you need to have such apps on your phone.

CamFind, Google Lens, Veracity, and more are a few popular ones. They deliver impressive results similar to image searches on Google or Bing. So, if you need to investigate catfish accounts, or find the source of any meme, then go for reverse image search.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
